Shalk Chalk
This Saturday, we’re going to celebrate our own version of Shark Week by hitting the streets with chalk art and our love for sharks.
What: Shark chalk mural and street corner bombs
Where: Victory Square, Vancouver on Pender and Cambie + downtown street corners
When: From Saturday 6pm August 14th until Vancouver rain washes it away
The Shark Truth team and local artists Larissa “Girl23″ Healey, Derrick “Boy” Humphreys, and Mathew Nordi will be creating a beautiful shark mural on the streets of downtown Vancouver to contrast the negative image of sharks that is often portrayed by Discovery Channel’s Shark Week. Although sharks can be dangerous – like any animal can be – sharks kill less than 4 people each year worldwide. They are misunderstood animals that need our protection and your help to spread the word.
T-Shirt Give Away
Take a photo with the chaulk event in the background and enter for a chance to win a Harry t-shirt.
How it works:
- Snap a photo with you and a piece of Shark Truthed chalk art
- Post it on our Facebook page between Aug 14 and Aug 20th
- Upload your photos, label them as “Shark Chalk”, and tag yourself or include your name
- Deadline for posting photos is August 20th 11:59pm PST
- A random winner will be chosen by August 22nd for an organic cotton Harry t-shirt
